Tinctures work best when placed directly under the tongue, but can be mixed into beverages like your morning coffee or cup of tea. This way, the compounds are directly absorbed into the bloodstream via the mucous membranes, and you’re able to get an effective dose. If you’re looking to mix into a beverage like coffee, just be sure to add more than normal as CBD oil is not water soluble, and some of it will stick to the sides of the cup. Regardless of how you use, make sure to drink extra water, and keep in mind that CBD is most effective when used consistently, as it builds up in the body overtime.
When it comes to dosing, start low and work your way up. As there is no standard dose, it can take a little time to discover what’s right for you. Try taking the recommended amount for the tincture you’re using, and if you don’t notice the effects after a while, slowly increase your dose. After consistent use and some time adjusting, you’ll figure out what works best for you and your body.
Just as dosing varies from person to person, so will the tincture you prefer to use. Optmizied Brands only uses full-spectrum.
Full-spectrum means that a full range of plant cannabinoids are present in the product, including THC at levels always below 0.3%. This allows you to experience the benefits of the full plant, as the compounds are able to interact with each other for a stronger effect. Although it’s very unlikely, there is still the small chance this could show up on a drug test, so if you work where this might be an issue, we recommend using a broad-spectrum or isolate product.
Broad-spectrum products contain the entire cannabinoid spectrum, except for THC. With broad-spectrum CBD, you’re able to experience the full range of the cannabinoid spectrum, without risking any exposure to THC.
Isolate is the purest form of the compound, meaning that the CBD has been extracted completely from the other elements of the plant (including terpenes and other cannabinoids). No THC is present in isolate products, and they have no taste or smell. Our Standard Dose tincture is an isolate product, and is a great option for those starting to introduce CBD, or for those who are looking for something odorless and tasteless.
Labeling can be confusing, as some brands will choose not to say CBD on the bottle, and others may label their product as being made of “hemp oil” to indicate that the product is full-spectrum and not just CBD. Keep in mind that if you see something labeled as “hemp seed oil,” it doesn’t contain CBD and is made from the seeds of the plants. To make sure you’re buying the right thing, thoroughly research each product you purchase.
